Running club for novices

A new health and fitness scheme, aimed at beginner runners has been launched by Ribble Valley Borough Council.

The Run Ribble Valley is part of the nationwide scheme Run England and has seen a number of running groups spring up throughout the borough.

Ribble Valley Borough Council’s sports development officer, Tom Bamber, said: “Have you ever fancied going for a jog, but never known where or how to start? Well, Run Ribble Valley could be just what you are looking for.

“Lead by run leaders trained to cater for all abilities, Run Ribble Valley is a fantastic way to meet new people and keep fit.

“Regardless of your age, fitness level, aspiration, or background, you can take part in Run Ribble Valley and benefit from being a part of a nationwide running community.”

Currently two Run Ribble Valley groups meet bi-weekly on Mondays, between 6pm and 7pm, at Clitheroe Castle, meeting at the Castlegate entrance, and at the same time on Wednesdays at Whalley Library.
