Residents are being invited to help clean their community as part of a joint operation in Great Harwood this weekend.

Neighbourhood Police officers have teamed up with Hyndburn Borough Council for the event which will take place in the Hameldon View, Princess Street and Park Street areas of the town between 10am and 2pm on Saturday, March 16.

PCSO for Netherton and Overton Helena Saile said: “Rubbish can be a real magnet attracting criminal damage and anti-social behaviour. It also makes an area look untidy which in turn can make people feel less safe.

“We are happy to be supporting this event and I encourage local residents to come along and work together to make a positive difference to their community.”

Skips and equipment will be provided for people on the day.
