Latest news from the Lancashire Evening Post
Plans to be build 20 new homes and a village hall in a Lancashire village have been unveiled.
Metacre, part of the Chorley-based Northern Trust Group, has submitted a planning application for 20 properties on land at Mythop Road in Weeton, near Kirkham.
It said it had worked with the village’s hall charity to design the facility for the past year.
A Metacre spokesman said: “As a longstanding landowner on the Fylde coast with a particular connection to the community of Weeton we are pleased to have the opportunity to work with the charity on this exciting scheme which will see the construction of a new hall for the village.”
It said the village’s existing hall dates back from the First World War.
The application, which includes the development of new affordable homes, will be considered by the planning committee of Fylde Council within the next three months.
The Northern Trust Group is owned by multi-millionaire Trevor Hemmings, owner of Preston North End.
The tycoon also owns a number of property holdings, including a substantial portfolio of pubs.
