Park set for a big clean up
Latest News
Volunteers are needed to help spruce up a park.
People who help maintain Greencroft Valley park in Penwortham, near Preston, claim it has attracted fly-tipping and repeated littering over recent years.
But the newly-formed Friends of Greencroft Valley has appealed for more people to help get the place into shape.
South Ribble councillor Peter Mullineaux said: “South Ribble has some of the country’s best green spaces, thanks to the work of council staff, friends groups and volunteers.
“I very much welcome the creation of a friends group for Greencroft Valley and wish them well in their efforts to clean up the area and attract more wildlife.”
The group’s first meeting will take place on Saturday on the park, from 10am until 12pm.
