New appointments at hospitals trust
Role: George Nasmyth
The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust has announced the permanent appointment of a Julie Walters as chief operating officer and George Nasmyth as medical director.
Sir David Henshaw, chairman of the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust, said: “I am very pleased to announce the permanent appointment of Juliet and George.
“Both took up these roles on an interim basis in April this year and under their leadership, we have seen significant operational and clinical changes, such as the opening of new, purpose designed wards at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and the appointment of clinicians to lead our patient services.
“The trust board remains absolutely committed to ensuring services remain safe, standards of care continue to improve and become sustainable in the longer term and these permanent appointments further strengthen what has become a strong and focused board.”
George is also an associate postgraduate dean with the North West Deanery so will undertake the role of medical director part time basis for a period of time to allow the Deanery to recruit a replacement.
