A renewed search is underway to find homes for children in care.

Social services chiefs in Preston are planning a special event next week to try to persuade more people to adopt and offer a permanent home and family for children who can’t live with their birth family.

A special information evening to drum up more support and help people find out more is being held at County Hall on Thursday.

Social workers will also be available to answer any questions.

A spokeswoman for the county council said: “You must be over 21, but whatever your race, gender, sexuality, living arrangements, age and employment status we want to hear from you.

The event takes place on Thursday February 9 from 6- 8pm at Cabinet Room C, County Hall, Fishergate Hill, Pitt Street, Preston, PR1 8XJ. There is a slide show presentation at 6.15pm.

There is disabled access, and free parking on Arthur Street, at the back of County Hall, after 5pm.

To book a place, contact Susan Schofield on 07814 751 150 or email at: susan.schofield@lancashire.gov.
