Courageous Logan North was thrilled to meet the world famous Red Arrows team at Blackpool.

Logan, five, of Collins Road, Bamber Bridge, near Preston, has Stage IV neuroblastoma and a campaign has been launched to raise £250,000 to send him to hospital for lifesaving treatment.

The youngster has had to undergo gruelling treatment including surgery, chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant and is now awaiting radiotherapy treatment.

However, he was given a special day of smiles after a family friend arranged for him to meet the Red Arrows flying team at Blackpool Airport and Logan was delighted at the unexpected treat.

His mum Amanda, 43, who is married to Ian, said: “Logan had such a wonderful day and really enjoyed himself and the Red Arrows team were so wonderful with him.

“It was so nice to see Logan have a break from all the hospital treatment and get the chance to enjoy being a normal little boy.

“He has been having a lot of scans and tests and we have just got our fingers crossed that he will be well enough to have the radiotherapy soon so he can go to America for the treatment he needs.”

The Evening Post revealed how Logan’s shock diagnosis of neuroblastoma was the latest in the long line of hurdles for his family.

Logan’s brother Max, 12, is autistic and his sister Amy, eight, has Down’s Syndrome and has had heart surgery. His mum Amanda has the auto-immune condition lupus which causes the body to attack itself and is currently in a wheelchair.
