A Lancashire gym has outmuscled the opposition to scoop a top award for the second time.

Chorley Fitness 24-Hour Health Club, based in Chorley, won Sports and Fitness Club of the Year at the Club Mirror Awards 2012.

It is the second time the club has lifted the prestigious award, following its success in 2007. Chorley Fitness, based in Chapel Street, beat six other finalists, including The BBC Club in London and Kings Heath Leisure and Cricket Club in Birmingham.

The awards were held at The Palace Hotel, Manchester, and hosted by BBC news and sports presenter Chris Hollins. Chief executive Richard Ellis accepted the award.
