Council tax freeze proposed

Latest news

Fylde councillors will be asked next week to freeze council tax for borough residents.

The council’s cabinet will meet on February 15 to discuss a recommendation to keep their part of the council tax at current levels.

The plan will then need to be approved by full council in March.

Coun David Eaves, council leader, said: “We must continue to seek more for less.

“Fylde residents are highly conscious of value for money. They know that times are hard. Fylde Council will not make things harder than they need be.”

He said a further restructure could be in the pipeline to save money.
