Charity fun day to raise funds for kid cancer ward
A group of Leyland parents are organising a Family Fun Day to raise cash for a children’s hospital.
The event goes ahead at Leyland Methodist Church Hall, in Goulding Avenue, in the town, on Saturday October 20.
The day will feature all the usual charity fair entertainments including gift stalls, face painting, a raffle, a tombola and more.
And there will also be a penalty shootout competition to keep football mad kids happy.
Creation Station handbags will have a stall on the day and there will also be beautiful handmade jewellery for sale.
Refreshments will be on sale throughout the day and there will be many more entertainments to enjoy.
All the money raised by the day will go to fund the operations of Ward 84 at Manchester Children’s Hospital which is the famous institution’s oncology ward.
Wendy Lomax, one of the organisers of the day, said: “The idea of the fun day was that we just wanted to help the hospital and also let people have some fun at the same time.”
The Charity Family Fun Day will start at 11am and run until 2pm. Entry is free.
