Cancer cause launches its Valentine’s appeal
Latest news from the Lancashire Evening Post
The Eric Wright Group based in Leyland has announced it will be the main sponsor for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s Valentine’s Appeal 2013.
The group has donated £1,500 to the charity which will help Rosemere stage its Valentine’s Concert as well as a number of other fundraising activities throughout February as part of the charity’s annual Valentine’s Appeal.
The Valentine’s Appeal, now in its third year, is a month long campaign which aims to raise £30,000 of vital funds for additional facilities and equipment for cancer patients across the region.
The highlight of the campaign is the Valentine’s Concert by Candlelight, set within the surroundings of Blackburn Cathedral.
This year it is being headlined by rising opera star Camilla Kerslake. Other activities will include town centre collections, fundraising events and a prize draw.
Sue Thompson, chief officer at the Rosemere Cancer Foundation, said: “Although we fundraise throughout the year, the Rosemere Valentine’s Appeal is so important as it gives us an opportunity to engage with a lot more people.
“I would like to say a huge thanks to Eric Wright Group.”
