A fast-food franchisee has struck gold at the loo 'Oscars'.
Toilets at McDonald's restaurants in Peddlers Way at Preston's Docklands, the Capitol Centre at Walton-le-Dale and Deepdale Shopping Park all received four-stars at the Loo of the Year Awards.

Nigel Dunnington, who owns and operates the three restaurants, said: "We prioritise making every aspect of a visit to McDonald's of the highest possible standard.

"We believe that everyone deserves clean, safe and well-appointed toilet facilities and ensure that these high standards are across the board, catering for everyone including disabled visitors and parents with small children."

The high standard of cleanliness at 123 inspected McDonald's restaurants across the country has placed the company in the 'Champions League' status for standards of excellence.

Since 1987, the Loo of the Year Awards promotes high standards of toilet cleanliness and is promoted by the independent British Toilet Association.
