A boardroom reshuffle has seen one of Preston's best-known businessmen take on plans to expand his firm across the globe.
Jeremy Gorick has taken over as managing director of the Iotech Group after stepping down from the same role within Liquid Plastics, a subsidiary of the group.

He is stepping into the job as the group plans to add its sixth trading company, Liquid Plastics (Middle East) which will trade in the United Arab Emirates. Steve Sullivan, who has been Liquid Plastics' finance director for the last nine years, has taken over as the company's managing director.

Mr Gorick said: "This will be followed closely by a new enterprise in Hong Kong and others as the group seeks to expand its overseas operations.

"The challenge of managing these coatings businesses will continue to grow and so I have stepped up to the new role of Iotech Group managing director.

"These changes will allow the group to continue to grow and thrive as it develops across the globe."

The company already has operations in the United Kingdom, the United States and parts of the Middle East.

Mr Gorick, the son of company founder, Lionel, will work on developing the Iotech group together with his brother, Jonathan, at Pentagon Plastics in Belgium.

Mr Sullivan said that continuing to form close relationships with its customers across the globe would be the top priority in his new job.

He said: "It is not just a salesman to buyer relationship, it is about speaking to our customers about what they want and need and then tailoring what we do to their demands."

The father-of-two, who lives in the Preston area, has previously worked in the finance departments of food giant Cadbury's Schweppes and engineering firm GEC on Trafford Park, Greater Manchester.
