An electronics specialist has created 14 new jobs after snapping up three divisions of a listed company in a £1.67m deal.
Scorpion Electro Systems, of Drumhead Road on the North Chorley Business Park has bought Toad Security, Sigma Alarms and Soundlinx, part of TG21 Plc, which floats on the Alternative Investment Market stock exchange.

The acquisition created new jobs at the firm's head office and three more in its satellite office in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

Partner John Marshall, of deal advisors Cowgill Holloway, said the deal would "increase the market competitiveness" of Scorpion, which designs and manufactures security, mobile communication and electronic accessories for vehicles.

The deal will see it supply new customers, including manufacturer Subaru and City Link, adding to existing clients DAF Trucks, Iveco and Vodafone.

Cash for the deal was provided by the Preston branch of banking giant HSBC, on Fishergate.
