An engineering design firm from Lancashire has won a £1m contract to support the latest military Airbus.
MB Faber Ltd will design the tooling for parts for the new Airbus A400M military transport plane at its base on School Lane, Leyland.

Air forces across Europe, including Germany, France, Spain and the UK, have already placed orders with Airbus for 192 of the aircraft.

The firm announced the deal at the Farnborough International Air Show, where it has an exhibition showing its operations.

MB Faber managing director Derek May said: "We have been doing this kind of work with Airbus in the civil field for a considerable amount of time and for us to be involved in this flagship project is a tremendous achievement for our aerospace team."

MB Faber will design the operational tooling for the structural assembly of the A400M wingbox at its Leyland site and it will then be manufactured by sub-contractors in the UK and Europe.
